Assitant Professor at University of Manitoba

Dr. Denise Black is a distinguished obstetrician and gynecologist based in Manitoba, Canada. Born and raised in Northern Manitoba, she pursued her medical education at the University of Manitoba where she completed both her medical degree and a five-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1994, she earned her fellowship from the royal college of physicians and surgeons of Canada.

Throughout her career, Dr. Black has balance roles in both academic and private practice settings. She has been affiliated with St. Boniface hospital and women’s hospital in Winnipeg and has served as the director of obstetrics and gynecology residency training program. She holds the position of assistant professor in department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences at the university of Manitoba. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals and has been instrumental in developing accredited and non-accredited continuing medical education programs focusing on menopause, contraception, and HPV prevention.

Dr. Black’s areas of expertise include menopause management, prevention and treatment of HPV-related disease, contraception, and non-surgical approaches to managing heavy menstrual bleeding. She is actively involved in national and international educational initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of women’s healthcare services.

Dr. Black’s extensive experience, combined with her dedication to patient care and medical education, has solidified her reputation as a leading figure in women’s health in Manitoba and beyond.
